Why the heck High level players on the low level ground?

Is it really okay to let the High level players to steal from the low levelers ... It just looks rediculous why the hell they are on a low level ground are they some high level noob who cant get the #Snow #Essence from their level grounds ... here at Iron forest which is Basically a L31-32 ground what the heck Level 45 doing ... Can't DSO already make it that high level players can't get off the Snow Essence from the Snowmen at low level grounds... By letting them be doing this crap is like making us waste our time on this stupid game...

P.S: Me and my friends already* have wasted 2 hours in this stupidity ... got any relevant answer?

 

They should just increase the number of snowmen, or give them individual uses, so everyone can be "happy" instead of trying to be the fastest to get 2-5 essence.
The level 45 toons aren't the problem, it's just the setup for the event that is retarded

 

High levels have always exploited event farming in lower level areas. It's sad and not fair but DSO doesn't care enough to do anything about it. It will only get worse as your level increases. They made reaching end game too easy, well, too affordable and with a glut of end game players with nothing to do but steal from the lower level players to break up the daily farming, it will never stop happening.
Be the same next year at the new lvl raise. Take a few days for most to reach lvl 50 and they will still farm low level areas for events if they can get event items faster that way.

 

DSO decided to limit where you can find ess, so everyone including the level 45 players have to go to where they are dropping.

 

Exactly Bro thats also one way to tackle this mess... like now in dungeons every one in the group can open the shabby chests. why can't they just make it like that with the snowmen.

 

Level does not give a person an advantage to get essence from snowmen unless you're riding with PVP on and want to duke it out. In that case it's self elected pain. Other than mobs being a distraction/threat a level 1 could out farm a 45 on this if he knows how to time the spawn points and get them in sync with his pattern of running. It takes about 15 minutes to get all the spawn points so you run up to them as they respawn.

There are several things that could have been done to ease the snowman farming routine, but all have been mentioned last year and there was no fix or acceptance for whatever reason from BP. The only changes I see to last years event are fixes to the map that eliminated safe spots, ridges to block ranged attacks, and removed a jumping point to skip part of the towers.

For whatever reason they want us to get into the holiday spirit by camping points, and racing to click the mouse button and frustrate someone else like with the original Black knight event. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" more than a fast moving epic mounted 45 that steals your snowman.

 

There's a really easy answer to this. The more frustrating and complex it is to get snow essences "for free" (not counting the time invested), the more likely a segment of players will be to spend andermant to get snow essences. When you get only two snow essence 5X-10X in a row, when the spawns you were camping get stolen by the same guy over and over... yeah, you might think about spending some ander for essences.

This is the one and only reason the farming of snow essences has never changed. "Put the snowmen in dungeons, make the snowmen click-able for everyone"... every suggestion has been made, but nothing done to make it easier. The reason: profit. 'Tis the season lol

 

high lvl toons dont get knocked off there mounts when getting hit by low lvl mobs,,faster to run to snowmen like that.
u need to find a low lvl map where u can do the same..

 

yeah mate but its not fair with the low levels to be honest with you all guys i still got much Snow Essences like from 10x-100x but most of the time i left the snowman for my friends these Level 45 would ruin it.. the ground is for the low levelers not for them

I am going to make a general response to this..why r high levels in low level maps...
It seems there are plenty of reasons why high level is in low level maps..i for one enjoy the crafting of gems..and that I find plenty of them in lower maps....I will be level 45 and I will be back in low maps farming..those bazillion little things add up...making most of my gems full..thx dso for the new gem crafting as most of mine are now upgradable again to make bigger....then ill start over with that slot to make a new big gem..if im seen a lower level map..lol..I get tons of response as to why I am there...and its mostly wayyy off...with some player trying to say garbage and all ..like he knows why a player is there ..hahahah should just play your own game....if any level player can go any lower level area,,i actually try to go away and leave that area..but only to run inot more players..so stick to caves..they have only you in their to farm out little gems a player may be nissing..again..therte are many reasons a big player is in lower levels...could even be gapping a new player..i do...helping them achieve their own goals...called guild work..!

 

It's not called "Guild Work", what you are doing is "pushing" which according to T&C is forbidden and admitting it has made you culpable in breaking T&C. Now a smart mod would forward this, easy enough to trace your forum name to account and all that, and hopefully some person who works in DSO that cares about a fair and balanced game would punish you in some way. Players like you are a huge part of the problem that drive new players away. They get frustrated and quit thanks to gappers and twinks.

BP, you really need to start paying attention more to why new players are leaving than coddling premiums, adding content, whatever. If you can get the players to stay by making the game somewhat FAIR then slowly the player base might start building up, especially on the US servers. You restrict lower levels now from going into higher maps to farm, why not restrict high level players from going into maps below their own level. It can't be that complicated, or grey out a high level player hotbar and mouse bar so no skills are available in low level areas, that would work too. Let the new players have a chance at possibly enjoying the game. There is absolutely no reason any endgame lvl player should even need to be farming low level maps unless you, BP, encourage the building of cheater toons, which according to T&C, you supposedly do not.

They only consider pushing if you are doing it between two of your own toons on the same account. Helping another low level player is not considered pushing....

DSO limits the options for those of us at the top levels by creating situations like the snowmen farming... There are a limited number of maps to farm these stupid things, so people are going to do what they need to do.

 

While I agree with you, technically it's not pushing but it should be. Twink building/enabling and pushing are the same thing except one is between your personal accounts. I laughed at Guild Work, it's pure bullying is all it is but this is a matter the dev team will continue to ignore and the US servers will remain woefully empty. Snowmen farming as an excuse? Yeah that works, justifies ruining a low level player wanting to do event too. They deserve to get draken too but high level players take that away too. Idk, this game has so many flaws that will never be addressed but kudos for trying to stick up for the little guy. Few do.

I will still go to low levels for things and I will still try to move away from active players..even if thye internet thinks differently about why a player is there..i can still go to those maps and play considerate to others..don't imply that I go there for anyother reason or to add to the frustrating ...players who do that run out and get what your after thing..we all see it,, have experienced it,, but I am not that.. if many other players did it..well its not my problem or my intent...

I feel that young kids and young players don't have the patients for building.i learned early that players don't even pvp for a while..thye build their guy first...and if they have a higher lebvel friend to help them then they call.it is going on all over the game..say im pushing..you kidding..!! Well i hope you don't have any kinda Ego issue, cause after hearing these words ego maniacs would get butt hurt no offence thou! so lets get to the topic, I m gonna give you a tip on how you should comment on a post. you should find the topic in the post first. Do you see i HashTag *Snow Essence* that means i am talking about the event which is Live at the moment. Are you aware that there is an ever Live which is Winter Solstice Festival. And my issue is regarding to this event, We need Snow Essence for that and which only drops by? do you know Bro? Yes, the #Snowman drops it which can only be found in open areas/Wilderness. And what you said in your response dude i know that already. I already have a Level 45 DragonKnight but when i have to farm for the stuff you talked about. I go to the Dungeons and Caverns. I always went to Catacombs & Crypt of kings, Lair's Liar, Prison of Soul and at high level Temple sector and Gleaming Mountains. You talked about farming for gems and blah blah stuff. Well for your kind information i have found very much gems and blah blah stuff from Gleaming mountains than any other low level ground in half of the time i spent on the low level areas while grinding... So the bottomline is that most of the people has said and done that farming/Grinding for stuff/gems is better at Dungeons and Caverns.

Well no ones asking here to why they are doing usually there ... but its the time for the winter event and we need snow essence off the snowmen for the bear boss. Still do you think is it okay to go on low level grounds when you can get it from the high level grounds.. Let me tell you a scene which happened to me and made me to post it here. I was at Iron forest this Level 45 DragonKnight was farming snow essences. when it is a low level ground he can get the same thing from high level ground as well. its not just an item which drops only at low level I.e like Uniques or gems. So the high level guy was stealing away from the low levelers. me and him was like at competetive edge cause i sometimes was able to slip through the monsters and grabbed the snowman before him so he would curse me out and call me "Noob" well didn't care about it thou. but when he did with all the low levelers i felt bad for them cause he would taunt us all low levelers by laughing like(hahaahaahah) and laughing emote which technically on virtual place is known as bullying. where if someone was at the snowman spot already I simply moved to the next spawning spot of snowman while the snowman would apear i farmed for the sugar beets and after it appearance I grabbed my essence and moved to the next spot. And when i accidently grabbed from other low levelers they just laughed and said nothing to me.. Still it made me look bad for myself so I grouped up with 3 players by making 2 man cell with them and i only led them to the spawning areas so they can get the Essences for their sake.

So the moral of my story is that Not everyones internet thinks different like the concept lurks in your mind bro

Please tell me where in the terms and conditions it forbids pushing? It specificly forbids creating multiple accounts for the purpose of benefiting another toon (I.E. an XP blocker or pusher toon), but there isn't actually anything about assisting lower level friends.

And there is a very good reason why high level toons farm low level maps even when there are not snowmen to steal.... Research the forums for "Low Level Legendaries." A good low level legendary when leveled up to the player's level has the potentel to be incredibly powerful and many end game players spend hours and days farming to make these low level treasures. I myself have a weapon decoration with 57 damage and 221 crit that started at level 8 with only 3 damage and 11 crit... You see, there are reasons.

Mind you, I'm not advocating stealing the snowmen from low levels who are trying to farm too, but the truth is that BP has a broken system and the end game players are just trying to make their own lives as easy as possible.

 

Earlier, I was showing my gaming partner-in-crime how where to collect snow essences by showing him the spawning spots in Iron Forest. Mind you, I'm level 43 and he's level 42 and I'm sure that either Misty Ridge or Thunder Crest are viable areas, I know all the spots in Iron Forest because that's where I farmed the snowmen in last year's event. It's not to steal from lower players, I was merely showing him what a snowman spawning from a ground looks like and so he can grab a few and understand each drop doesn't have the same yield of snow essences. I was running around with a mount and was circling around a map whenever I find an open one so he can run over to pick it up. If a player at level comes near, I let them take it but will verbally jab in chat to my buddy that he's too slow and needs to pay better attention. The little running tutorial lasted only 5 minutes before we went back to event farming.

I don't have a problem if a higher level player picked up one or two along the way (I do so because I always pick up two repeatable Hognis Mine quests to finish the "complete 6 quests" daily quest in an expedient manner) but I do have issues with high level players camping out and literally hoarding drops for 15 minutes or longer, not letting other players have a single chance.

To answer your question: no, it's not okay for high levels to farm out of lower level maps. However, what they should do is have it programmed that the snow essences will only drop +/- 5 levels of the player level against the urban map level... but also increase the refresh on the snowmen to two minutes with the algorithm that you can't farm out of the same snowman consecutively within a certain longer time period. This will make players in general to move around the map in order to pick up snow essences.

However, I believe the current setup was implemented so BP can push players to purchase snow essences with andermant costs that is high enough that it can be obtained through paying andermant packs via real currency. Who knows?

 

This is about making the game enjoyable for ALL levels. I don't care about your lvl 3 weap decoration. I crafted a lvl 45 that came with 67 damage and 322 crit. Crafted from 4 pink lvl 45 items. Don't sell the need to farm for low level legendaries anymore. You people are absolutely wrong about glyphing the perfect item. These items dropping now are incredibly powerful now, I'm getting weapons on a sw I have with 84% crit DAMAGE plus damage boosts. But playing the game at your own level is never going to happen I have to assume.
This is about letting the low level/new players have fun too. I stand by my reply. High levels farming low level areas need to be stopped so we can build up a player base. Let the level 10's do the events too, let them experience the highs and lows of the games without being driven out by the endgame players and levels under it with every excuse in the world as to why they need to farm those areas.
Don't punish me for being empathetic for the low level player. I know this is all DSO fault and they refuse to even attempt to make the game fair for a new player. We ALL know that. Money makes the game and the advertised F2P myth that is DSO is a sad lie.
DSO could have put the snowmen in dungeons but SailorSaturn is right, it's all about forcing people to buy if they want to farm boss for unique drops.
The game team, the decision makers of DSO are the real instigators of forum discord. They know half the decisions they make are NOT beneficial to anything beyond a bit of fluff and maybe they have a pool going as to which forum poster gets mad enough about something and gets a penalty for posting an opinion. I would not put that past them per the lack of direction and common sense that should have been showed for Xmas 2014 event. Maybe they are all just laughing at us about the snowmen and lack thereof.

 

Well my problems is not with them being on the the low level areas, they can do what ever they want farm in the mean days or do questing not a big deal but during the event its not fair with the players at low level. I do too farm at low level areas but i try to stick more with dungeons & caverns. but my issue is regarding the event.. I dont give a damn if they wanna spend all their life on low level areas. but like some Events we can't farm for the event items like beans etc.. we have to farm them +5/-5 from our level so the point is this event should be the same..

And DSO should also change the way of Snowman's spawning cycle.. its basically in Anti-clock wise. why don't they make it random spawning. By this High level Noobs can also farm on low level grounds. Cause then it will be fair for all of us. As you mentioned above that the high levelers camping and hoarding but during this event its ridiculous plus whats more disgusting they taunting the low levelers with laughing emote. calling them noob. This is an act of virtual bullying. I have played many MMO's they have log system which records ones every chat input and actions. So when 1 does virtual bullying only one relevant report against the bully can get his/her EDIT off the game to banned land .. But sad DSO have noobs at their HQ!
