Yes but the crit and speed are low :(

Outdated is a kind term; obsolete is more accurate.
Release 155 was notice of a new game, built on remnants of the old DSO maps and systems. PvP and end-gamers were thrown under the bus for new PvE players. The chaos continues, as staff change priorities. You can hear the silence, as we wait for the other shoe to drop.

I thought 'obsolete' but used 'outdated' not to argue with the debate lovers, and not to hurt the user) seems like I'm getting mature :)

But yeah, if you wish so, it is indeed an obsolete masterpiece of junk by now)

Okey Legendary king set maybe ,,obsolete,, but i don't find better combination , if you can suggest me something? I have some unique sets - rosh 50lvl, dragan 50, amon set... old karabosa 2/3... will try to collect 3rd part this mount. And for less than 2 years in game think i have good stats :)

What's better can be a very personal choice. It depends on your style, preferences, skill tree, cash level, all kinds of things.
I most enjoy a battle mage approach, which for me was nerfed out of practicality some time ago. I still use the new dark set and draganache set for PvE, but I am just above mediocre for someone with 8000 hrs of play.
Post complete information, and you'll get some good coaching from forum regulars. Who, what, when, where, why, how, etc. Good hunting.

new Darkness set offers a lot in terms of DPS, plus flexibility to use with Damage Torso, or Crit Gloves, etc.

you mean the 30% crit dmg mechanic gloves? I've been thinking about getting those too for my ranger.
Would you use those or speed gloves with 20-30% speed?

yes, I meant those. and it depends on the use case. I use them only in one case - killing some boss with blue or above essences, assuming there is someone who will hold boss aggro. I dont need speed in this case, as I can get it with Agility from the bonus tree. The other items are darkness. in case of green essences, I will switch to darkness gloves and 20% dmg torso.

If I were to think about defense just a little, I would consider darkness gloves, or some legendary gloves with enough speed. 'enough' could be different for different people. I own 6-7 different gloves, 0% to 20%+ speed with various remaining lines (some 2x armor, some 2x resist etc, some 4x armor). every char is different and so is every use case. And overall, I own at least 5 items of each kind, with different mist of stats. and I use the adornment to finish the build, as it is easier to get adornments with all possibles combos of crit, dmg and crit dmg than any other left sided item.

For the speed, I always decide what is the comfortable speed for specific use case. It could be 2.31 for 1handed arena, it could be 2.01 (2.00 now) for 1handed farm, it could be 1.58 for 2handed farm etc. Whatever the number is. I stick to sapphires in adornment, and see how much more do I need from gloves, and go from there. flexibility with new bonus tree helps as well.

as for your specific question, again, 20% or 30% might be a big difference. I would use as less speed as possible, if that adds armor or something else. so if I decide go 2.31, and those 30% make it 2.42, i would downgrade gloves to something that gives 2.31. If my speed without gloves is 2.01, and I'm going some farming - those 30% Crit Dmg make a lot of sense.

I've been thinking the same thing: to use crit dmg gloves for boss fights. But I need to improve my sapphires first so I can get decent speed (at least 1.31 without speed gloves and with longbow). I also want to get that chicken pet for another 10% crit dmg but then I lose even more speed because I have to quit using the 5% raptor pet. I'll get another 5% crit dmg from the stone I'll get in the next defeat the undefwhatever event (the most boring event ever).
I'm using 300% for now, but when I'll find a better quiver with full crit dmg lines, maybe 1-2 good left items with over 45% crit dmg each, maybe I can go up to 450% crit dmg, with 60% crit and maybe 3500 -4000 dmg. But for this I need to also find a better bow (since with the current one I barely pass 3200 dmg), a better torso with 4x %dmg lines (and good ones) and farm more to upgrade my left side legendaries and bring my bow from 54 to 55 and my quiver from 50 to 55
I think many people, especially newcomers underestimate the power of crit dmg. They go all in for dmg and neglect the crit. Well if you have 4k dmg and 450% crit dmg, when you crit it's like having 18k base dmg.
Of course these stats are only day dreams for the moment, because you have to be very persistent and lucky to get the right items with max values to be able to build such a monster.

Just a tad short of 1,60 speed and very nearly 42% crit. is low? With that damage and HP? Come on... dem expectations :D.
I, for one, love your build, and would kill to have it, haha ;). And to think you have so many other sets too... just... congrats!
But it will put hole in your HP the size of China :p. One could make up for it with the right items, though.

Guilty of that I was, until I upgraded a 2H staff. I went from one that gave me a decent crit hit rate (25%), to a staff with no CHR but a helluva lot more base damage and 5X my previous crit damage (109% --> 151%). This made my overall DPI soar by a factor of five. New respect I have for this attribute.

True, but it's tricky. One should not overestimate it either... because you need crit. rate in order to make it count. I just hatee it when it ruins a potentially monster weapon (see threads about 2H weapons, for example) or other items... I've had so many get crit. lines that rendered them useless.

Agreed. I think balance is the key. In your opinion, do you think many players put too much emphasis on crit rate?

Not sure... the "recent" crit. rate formula nerf has tweaked things a bit. Now you're really strong if you can get to 50%. I used to be able to have about 70% with an offensive offhand and Kara set... now I had to find better items to be able to reach 50% with the same kind of setup. With a defensive offhand I have about 15-20%, without Kara set. As you said, balance is key... people put emphasis on crit. rate, crit. damage, damage, HP, armor... LOL, just about everything.

We've had the damage discussion before.

DSO mixes up the flow between basic damage and critical damage. The averages may be right for your stats, but the stream of hits show a randomness pattern over time. Sometimes you get a mostly white (basic damage) hits; sometimes you get mostly yellow (critical damage) hits; sometimes they alternate in a very mechanical way, almost a perfect match to your character stats.
As far as just damage goes, choose the gear that gives you the highest total damage over time. Odds are that it will take down your targets the fastest. The best mix with other offensive and defensive gear (and gems) is still a matter of personal values, and trial & error.

You can learn to use the best gear available, or you can get the best gear to match your style. Some do both.

Currently, for myself, I'd like to get between 20% and 34%.

Yes, I've been noticing that lately. Somewhat related: I've also been curious as to any pattern regarding low-end vs high-end of the base-damage range. Speaking of which...
My general philosophy, which is why I did that staff trade, and it did pay off. But now, I want more CHR. It's nice seeing that extra-kapow pop up, especially with a big-strike skill.

This is my SW, i was using an 2H before but with the low crits and speed, i realize that farming is better with a 1H wand.
