How to do it easily as ranger

This is only for one version :)
There are at least three map (attack) versions ... it won't work with the other versions :D

What do you mean? I haven't done so many runs yet tbh. I know there is the other one with the big black ball shots and ice shots instead of chain lighting. What wouldnt work or what did I miss?

I dunno about this boss in particular, but remember they have more skills when you go to higher difficulties, for the rest, there's 3 additional skills, they'll use a randomly chosen one from those 3 in excruciating and 2 in fatal, so yeah, if it works as the others, then there's at least 3 different combinations of those additional skills he could use during the fight in fatal. And I say "at least" because I hadn't tested it myself yet.

I run fatal only, and what I've seen so far was a combination from black ball shots / lighting strikes / ice shots / chain lighting shots.
And this strategy worked for all of those, it didnt make any difference.

The black balls worlds make this more annoying, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't work.

Basically, this boss isn't as bad as some of the doomsayers made it sound. In fact, I think it is easier than Herald.

It won't work because you can't miss those balls.
You are always talking from DK's perspective ... but this is rangers we are talking about ... furthermore using quiver.

I'm saying more annoying because dodging the lightning strike takes less than a second and then it is back to hitting the boss, whereas the black ball follows, meaning that you need to move a lot more which means less attacking, more dodging. Just because I play a DK, don't make the assumption that I can't think like a ranged toon.

That is why it won't work.
Let me make it more clear ... in the first stage he is engaging Sigrismarr at close combat ... in his map version he can do that no doubt about it ... but in the other version Sigrismarr is firing ice missiles and 3x mine like floating bombs (balls). Those balls are the reason it won't work because you have 2 options to make them disappear .
    1. take all 3 shots
    2. move away while they are following you until they disappear (but the problem is Sigrismarr will cast another 3 and another 3 and another 3 ... until the first stage finishes by releasing minions and activating his barrier) or destroy them at the starting part of the map.
That is why quiver equipped ranger can't play the first part like he has described in his guide IF placed in other map version.
That means ... in this version ... the ranger should stay at distance even at starting stage.
So i was talking only about that part of the "guide" ... and it won't work.

This is incorrect. If you manage to stay close combat he won't fire the 3 homing ice missiles, this has nothing to do with map versions. In fact, those 3 ice missiles are the very reason for fighting him in close combat, in order to prevent him from shooting them at your toon.
And with black balls you just have to run downwards right to sigri until they disappear, the dont follow for a long distance.

    You are correct!
But because it was probably a bug ... I was testing that at TS (before it went live) and live server (right after the release came live) and it was not working that way. Sigrismarr was releasing those balls regardless of the close distance.
Tried today both with my SW and my ranger ... and that behavior is fixed.
So yea it is possible in all maps. :D

Not bad, but your SW friend was a little nooby in the beginning. There was no reason for him to move most of the time, yet he kept moving and wasting times that he could be hitting the boss and at times actually got hit because he moved into the path of the ice missiles.

Maybe the reason was to let aggro at him :) i like the expert here so much :)

Someone has forgotten how agro with stationary enemies works.
Since you have forgotten one of the basics of the game, this expert will teach you something. Against stationary bosses, their agro is determined by whoever is closest. You could never pull agro from a distance. Try this little experiment. Just have a DK sit next to Sigrismar while the rest of the party hits him from a distance. After that experiment, tell me how much good your running around does you. And even if I'm wrong (and that is a big "if"), then you are still moving around too much. You'd just need to doge the ice missiles when they come, not doge like you are shadow boxing.

Interesting, I was duo'ing Sigris Saturday with a DK and he repeatedly shot at me from the second pylon. The DK was standing to Sigris' right hand side.

Because he is different. Mixture of what _Baragain_ and Viki are talking about.
See this https://board-en.drakensang.com/threads/lucky-groups-of-drops.57650/page-12#post-659298 ... in that run i was with reds and my friend with blues ... he was attacking both of us. in other runs i was with blues and they were with reds ... he was attacking all of us and sometimes atacking me more than the others.
We were playing with Mario_Boss ... he was pulling aggro on him in some runs Sigrismar was attacking only him in some he was attacking all of us.

You are wrong. It is about dmg and being close, it always was. I never had aggro when we both used red during the first round. He will start shooting homing ice missiles since his aggro is being drawn to the higher dmg output char (she uses blue during the first round so i wont lose aggro and thus waste a lot of time by running away from those ice balls..). Try this experiment yourself, without the dk's luring skill of course.

So much for expert...and yet you have the guts to /facepalm some1...lol
