    Hello,

I am connecting to the game through Kongregate. Since from 7th of march the game will not be playable from Firefox what should I do in order to play the game ?
Can i switch to direct connection via client ?

    Thanks.

You can still play the game via browser ... I won't be switching to client as well.
No you can't... since you are using 3rd party.

Just don't update your Mozilla... and problem solved. :D

OR ... use older portable FF version for playing. ;)

FWIW, IE also works if you install Java. I'm trying out the client and not liking a lot of little things. There is no link to the Wiki. It starts maximized and I like to play windowed. It doesn't remember anything but my login name. At least the browser also remembers my server. If I hit F10 to take a screen shot it freezes and prevents me from clicking on the start button in Windows. If I read the forums via the client, there is no back button and I haven't yet figured out how to go back to the list of posts. :(

I'm a fervent browser player and the fact that I can play the game in browser is one of the main reasons I play this game.
I have had bad experience with downloads for games several times. Also my virusscan is blocking the client and I ain't going to take unnecessary risks, I need my pc alive. If the game is not playable anymore in a browser I will probalby quit the game (also, if somewhere in the future I decide to download games, there are nicer downloadable games than this one. The browser option is a big advantage of this game as long as it continues).

I was expecting an official solution from BP, not workarounds. But thanks anyway.

    Hey there heroes,

The best solution (and the only one for now...) seems to be Internet Explorer ;) I am on it and it is working in time! :p

so any info that they will work this browser to come back soon or not....?i can't use IE 11 because all my units either in home or office are windows 10 now. Its not compatible. I dont happy because i felt some players that i usually seen in my playtime are not active anymore for this issue.

    Hey there @DiabloadiK ,

So sorry, but there is no other option, so far as I know. It is not depending on Bigpoint's decision.
This is an external decision that we must deal with. We shared with you on time the exact situation and potential solutions for this problem - HERE

At the moment, IE 11 is the best solution for those ones who wish to keep playing via browser. But, we would like to remember that in the near future (it is expected that at least...) Microsoft will not support java plugin anymore... so, we are now investing just on Client version, which can be a good sign for the future.

    Cheers,

IE 11 is included as a legacy browser with Win 10. It is hidden since Edge is the new default Microsoft browser. A search is needed to find it. In the search box just type in IE. Then you can pin it to the start menu, taskbar or copy to desktop. MS has announced that IE11 will be supported until the end of the Win 10 life cycle. Hope this helps.

If it is not on the work computers at your office that is because your IT admin has disabled it. Just email that person and ask if you can have it back so you can play games when you are supposed to be working :D

I have tried it and it does work. Too bad I find IE just as annoying as web based game clients :p

it is good that BP is investing in client version but I am put off by it that everytime there is a patches... one has to download GBs worth of data b4 we can start......

    Wrong!
You can still play on TS from Mozilla FF (I don't know about the new update, 'cuz I never update my FF :D), but you can't play on live servers... Why? Because they've definitely disabled something and they blame it on Mozilla. o_O No one's gonna buy this BS.
If they (DSO devs) undo whatever settings they've done related with the FF compatibility, I'm sure we'll all be able to play again on live servers from FF.

Notice that the TS is not using HTTPS encryption. In another related thread I stated that I believe these two issues are connected. So it actually is a technical issue related to FF. BP's only fault here is that they so quickly washed their hands of providing any support for browser technical issues.

    Hey there,

Thank you for pointing it out ;) That's exactly the situation :)
Firefox login was switched off with HTTPS change on live servers, but on stable it wasn't, so with old firefox you can play there, until you update it to version 52.0

    Cheers.

o_O Just used it. In Hiraja on TS, using FF, as I type this. Now if I could get Tegan to work with either Client or IE :( (both are not connecting atm)

Thank you for confirming that the login was switched off with the HTTPS change. That proves exactly the point that BP switched it off, and nothing to do with FF. :)

    This holds no water anymore...
It looks like they've disabled the TS support for Firefox a few days ago and the TS is still HTTP (no "S").
    GAME OVER!
